ZPLOTIT produces vector demagnetization diagrams, intensity-decay plots, and stereonets and computes the principal component analysis (PCA) from paleomagnetic data sets The Zplotit directory contains the code for zplotit, with subroutines provided in directories PCA and lplate. These programs are described in the user manual, which is included in the downloaded verion of ZPLOTIT. The manual is available as a Word document and as a PDF: ZPLOTIT-Users-Guide-v2011-01.doc ZPLOTIT-Users-Guide-v2011-01.pdf ******* Downloading ZPLOTIT ************* The program ZPLOTIT, its subroutines, the Unix Makefile, and this document are in a file called Zplotit.tar.gz. This file is available at the Web site http://paleomag.ucdavis.edu/software/Zplotit/ Simply download it from the web page (Option click for Macs). The file will likely automatically uncompress if you are using a Mac. If it does not automatically uncompress, then uncompress it using the following gunzip command in a terminal window by typing: % gunzip Zplotit-v2011-01.tar If you are unfamiliar with terminal windows, see the PDF manual. On a Mac, extract the files by double clicking on Zplotit.tar. Alternatively, you can extract the folder from a terminal window by typing: % tar -xvf Zplotit-v2011-01.tar You should end up with three folders: Zplotit PCA lplate.
